Harry potter cake

This Harry Potter birthday cake takes Harry Potter fans into the magical world of Harry Potter! Hagrid sat on this delectable “gooey chocolate cake” (as described in the book) that was decorated with pale pink vanilla buttercream icing. and inscribed with the vivid green text “Happee Birthdae Harry.” at the top!

When I think of the famous Hagrid cake from the movies, I hear Hagrid’s voice say, “Got summat fer yeh here And from the ‘inner pocket of his black coat’ Hagrid pulls out the ‘slightly squeezed box’ containing Harry Potter’s birthday cake! He went ten years without a birthday acknowledgment, but his eleventh birthday marked the turning point in Harry’s story – and what better way to celebrate than with his very first birthday cake!

Why this recipe works

• Matches the movie and book description. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone states that Harry Potter’s birthday cake is “a large, gooey chocolate cake with ‘Happy Birthday Harry’ written on it in green icing. This is a luscious 20cm two-tiered Harry Potter chocolate cake, decorated with green icing lettering and pink frosting.

If you’re baking a birthday cake for a friend or want to celebrate Harry’s birthday on July 31st, this is the perfect Harry Potter cake for your wizarding celebration! You really can’t go wrong with Hagrid’s Harry Potter Birthday Cake, as it’s one of the most iconic foods from the Harry Potter series (except maybe Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans and Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice!)

• Fun and tasty recipe for Harry Potter cake! I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and the Harry Potter movies. I read the illustrated set with my son! This cake is a fun and delicious dessert to share with fellow Harry Potter fans at your upcoming Harry Potter birthday party on July 31st!

Notes on the ingredients for Harry potter cake

• Unsweetened cocoa powder: This is the same as natural cocoa powder, but very different from Dutch cocoa powder. To learn more about the different types of cocoa powder, when to use them, and why, read my post on the best cocoa powder for baking!

• Buttermilk: For best results, use buttermilk at room temperature. Wet ingredients at room temperature are better incorporated into the dough, resulting in a smoother baking process.

• Vegetable oil: Cakes made from oil are much moister than cakes made from butter. This is because oil is liquid at room temperature while butter is solid. JK Rowling specifically describes this Harry Potter birthday cake as a “smooth chocolate cake”, which means it must have been incredibly moist. We achieve this moisture by using the oil.

• Warm water: The cocoa powder is bloomed using the heated water.Combining cocoa powder with hot water creates a richer and deeper chocolate flavor.

• Unsalted butter: This butter is for the green and pink frosting. You want the butter to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. It gets a little soft but still cold.

• Food coloring: Harry Potter birthday cake is famous for its bright pink and green colors for frosting and frosting! I didn’t have green food coloring so I used liquid food coloring and it worked well. However, I used pink gel food coloring. That’s why I think you can use gel or liquid and it will work fine.

Step by step instructions (Harry potter cake)

1. Mix the dry ingredients. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking powder and salt.

2. Mix the wet ingredients. Mix eggs, buttermilk and vegetable oil in the bowl of an immersion blender until well combined. Add the dry ingredients and mix.

3. Let the cocoa powder bloom. Pour the hot water and vanilla extract into the food processor and blend until well combined.

Other Steps

4. Baking. Pour the chocolate chip cookie batter evenly over three 8-inch round cake pans that have been sprayed with cooking spray (with flour), place a circle of parchment paper in the bottom of the pan, and spray again. Bake at 300°F for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake shows a few moist crumbs but no wet dough.

5. Allow to cool under icing. Allow the cookies to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool to room temperature. Beat the butter in an immersion blender until it becomes creamy. Add granulated sugar 1 cup at a time. Once mixed, add the vanilla extract and the whipped cream. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes or until mixture is light in color and fluffy in texture.

Important Steps

6. Paint the glaze. Take 1 cup of frosting and place it in a small bowl. Mix thoroughly after adding the green food coloring. You want a clear green color. Fill in a piping bag with a fine nozzle. Add the pink food coloring to the remaining frosting and stir. You want the pink icing to be vibrant as well.7. Assemble the “Happy Birthday Harry” cake! Place a layer on a cake stand or cake board with a small dab of frosting underneath so it doesn’t move during the frosting. Add a thin layer of the pink vanilla buttercream frosting and spread to cover the cake pan. Place the second cake pan on top. Roughly coat the entire cake with pink icing.

8. Write your Happee Birthdae Harry cake message. Use the green icing in the piping bag and write “Happee birthdaydae harry” on the cake. The film shows a line through the pink icing between the “P” and “E” in HAPPEE, extending between the “H” and “D” in BIRTHDATE, and then between the “H” and “A” in HARRY. If you want, you can change the name if this is a friend’s birthday. To like!

Recipe tips

When it comes to the icing on this Hagrid Harry Potter birthday cake, you’ll want to make like Hagrid! Do you remember the stone cookies from the books? Hagrid is no baking expert, so the icing should look a little rough and uneven! Hagrid even says, “I may have sat on it once, but it must taste good if it looks like a friendly half-giant is sitting on it as he travels across the country to a little hut in the middle of it.” Country.
